Abstract
This research aimed to determine the ability of young learners to acquire English vocabulary through the intensity of using mobile applications. This research was motivated by the problem of using mobile applications amidst the widespread use of mobile phone among elementary school students. The subjects in this research were sixth-grade students at SDIT Alam Golden School, Kota Solok, academic year 2023/2024.
This research was conducted by using a survey method. In collecting data, the researcher used observation and interviews. In this observation, the researcher carried out direct observations by joining the class when the English learning process was taking place and at the same time collecting the students' first semester English report cards. For interviews, researcher used 7 questions which could develop along with the answers given by the interview and these questions were in accordance with the 7 interview indicators.
The results of this research show that the intensity of using mobile applications can improve English vocabulary skills in young learners. It can be concluded that there is a good influence from the intensity of the use of mobile applications on increasing English vocabulary in young students. Therefore, the author hopes that students can make good use of technological advances, especially in the use of mobile applications, to increase their scientific knowledge.
