This study was aimed to know the attitude of students towards the use of mobile based dictionaries in English learning activity at eighth students of SMP N 3 Solok 2018/2019 academic year. This research is motivated by problems faced by students in English learning activity, students are often bored in the learning process because students make mistakes and find difficulties in translating text. The problem is overcomed by the teacher by using mobile based dictionary as a medium to translate words in English learning activity.
The research method used in this study is quantitative descriptive. The subject of this study is the students in eighth grade class VIII 3 SMPN 3 Solok 2018/2019 academic year. The number of subjects in this study were 26 students. In collecting data, researchers used questionnaire, in this questionnaire the students tick (v) in the response column provided. In this case, the researcher used 30 number of statements that correspond to 3 indicators and 10 sub-indicators.
The results of this research showed that the students' attitude on the use of mobile based dictionary in English learning activity at the eighth grade students of SMPN 3 Solok was good level. It means that, students' attitude on the use of mobile based dictionary in English learning activity in eigthth of SMPN 3 Solok was positive. In addition, the average of students' attitudes agree toward the use of mobile based dictionary in English learning activity. So, it is suggested to the student to use of mobile based dictionary especially in english learning activity.
